Rejoice on that day and leap for joy, for your reward in heaven is great [absolutely inexhaustible]!  -Luke 6:23a AMP

Sounds like an amazing blessing and it is but when just reading this verse you may wonder what ‘that day’ is referring to. ‘That day’ is referring to the day you get hated, yelled at, scorned, made fun of, persecuted for loving Jesus. Too often I am not willing to be too bold for Jesus because of fear of man, I don’t want to be made fun of, I don’t want to be hated, berated, and told how terrible it is that I put my trust in Jesus. But according to the verse above, when that happens, it is great cause to rejoice and leap for joy. Just picture that, that’s like a basketball player making the winning shot at the ending buzzer where he/she leaps with joy, that is how we should react when we are persecuted for loving Jesus! Just writing this was very convicting for me. How does it land with you? How does this change how you view being bold for Jesus?
