And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear [and worship] the Lord your God [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect], to walk [that is, to live each and every day] in all His ways and to love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul [your choices, your thoughts, your whole being].  -Deuteronomy 10:12

As you read this verse replace the word Israel with your name in the beginning and experience our personal it feels. That is what the Word of God is, personal. Let us meditate on this verse and what it looks like in our life. Following this verse and doing what it says is the key to a happy and fulfilled life. We often look at the statement to fear God as that we should be afraid of God, but the meaning behind fear is that we have such a profound respect and reverence for God that we worship Him with every ounce of our body, that we stay aligned with Him in our thoughts, actions, and words. Serving the Lord doesn’t have to be hard, but it does have to be intentional.
