Good Morning!
He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves and were confident that they were righteous [posing outwardly as upright and in right standing with God], and who viewed others with contempt. -Luke 18:9
I encourage you to read the rest of this passage in Luke. He goes on to tell the parable of the Pharisee and tax collector that went to the temple to pray and the difference in how they viewed themselves. The Pharisee told God all the things that he did right and thanked God that he wasn’t like the tax collector and thought himself better than anyone else around. The tax collector didn’t even look up while he prayed but beat his chest, confessed to be a sinner, and asked God for His mercy and grace. Jesus goes on to say that the tax collector is the one that walked out of the temple that day justified that day. Whoever exalts themselves will be humbled and whoever humbles themselves will be exalted. Do we view others with contempt? Do we exalt ourselves over other people? Which one are we, the Pharisee or the tax collector?

Dad Joke of the Day:
I’ve decided to learn jokes in sign language.
That way, I can guarantee no one’s heard them before.
Have a great Monday!
