A Clear Conscience Makes a Soft Pillow

Good Morning!

And see to it that your conscience is entirely clear, so that every time you are slandered or falsely accused, those who attack or disparage your good behavior in Christ will be shamed [by their own words].  -1 Peter 3:16

There is not many things that are more discouraging than being accused of doing something that we didn’t do. There might be nothing we can do to prove our innocence. When in that situation we need to continue to live in a way that our conscience is totally clear and know that God knows the truth. When we are falsely accused it is easy to get upset and say hurtful things that really don’t help our situation, instead we want to respond in a way, that when the truth comes out, that we can feel good about how we handled it. Often it works out that whoever is attacking us with lies are the ones that end up looking like the untrustworthy ones. But even if none the truth ever comes out, God still knows the truth and, in the end, He is ultimately the One that matters. Live in such a way, that if put under a microscope on any given day, your life would look like a follower of Jesus. Every day is a new day and a fresh leaf to turn over. The best time to start with a clear conscience is today, right now.

“Living life with a clear conscience is the fruit of a repentant heart and new life through Jesus Christ.”  -Brian Houston

“Keep conscience clear, then never fear.”  -Benjamin Franklin
