Good Morning!
…you have come to be continually in need of milk, not solid food. For everyone who lives on milk is [doctrinally inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant. But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil. -Hebrews 5:12-14
As we mature in our faith we should be looking to mature spiritually. Sometimes it is easier to just stay on the milk because it is simpler that way versus eating the steak. But as we get to the steak, our responsibilities change as well, we can no longer live in the innocence of when we were drinking the milk. If you have tasted the steak and try to simply go back to the milk you will be miserable because you will not be living to the fullest potential that God has blessed you with. Keep pushing yourself daily to grow spiritually, to grow in your faith. Don’t settle for the milk if God has blessed you with the steak.
“Spiritual maturity is not reached by the passing of the years, but by obedience to the will of God.” -Oswald Chambers
“Spiritual maturity is neither instant nor automatic; it is gradual, progressive development that will take the rest of your life.” -Rick Warren
Dad Joke of the Day:
I caught my son chewing on electrical cords. So I had to ground him. He’s doing better currently and conducting himself properly.
Have a great Thursday! Go eat some steak!
