Think Before You Speak

Good Morning!

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips [to keep me from speaking thoughtlessly].  -Psalms 141:3

Sometimes we speak before thinking and praying this verse over ourselves on a regular basis will help us keep in mind of what we say. What might seem like a careless comment to us might hurt in deep way to someone around us because something we say may trigger something that happened to them. We are held accountable for the words that come out of our mouth and words are something that can be apologized for but not something that can be taken back entirely. This doesn’t mean that we can’t have fun and that we need to be all serious all the time but we do need to be aware of what we are saying and when we are making light of something that we don’t do it at someone else’s expense.

“Be sure to taste your words before you spit them out.”

“3 things that you cannot recover in life: the word after its said, the moment after its missed, and the time after its gone.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

My boss asked me why I only get sick on work days.

I said it must be my weekend immune system.

Have a great Monday!
