He Hears Us

Good Afternoon!

This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.  -1 John 5:14

How confident are we in our prayers? First of all, are they aligned with God’s will? For example, if you are praying for someone’s salvation or praying for something that can further God’s Kingdom then it is aligned with God’s will. When we pray in God’s will we can have the confidence that things are moving and shaking and changing. It might not be on our timeline or it might not look exactly how we thought it would look but when looking at the big picture, God will move in a way that is best. Part of having faith is having that confidence that our prayers are heard and will be answered. I saw a quote a while back that said something along the lines of, “Only when we recognize that we are in a spiritual war will we realize what prayer is for.” Our prayers matter, our prayers are a weapon against the enemy, our prayers can/will change the world.

“To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.”  -Martin Luther

“We don’t need self-confidence, we need God-confidence.”  -Joyce Meyer

“You are currently living at least one of the prayers you used to pray.”  -Aaron Will
