Good Morning!
In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because the Spirit intercedes [before God] on behalf of God’s people in accordance with God’s will. -Romans 8:26-27
The Holy Spirit is often called Helper and as you can see in the verses above it makes sense. There are times when we want to convey something in prayer but there are just no words for it or how our words come out might not be fully conveying what is on our heart. We can have confidence that our heart, our exact need behind the prayer, is getting taken to the Father through a Messenger that will perfectly articulate what we are feeling in our heart. This does not mean that we just not spend any time in prayer because “God knows our heart”. While that may be true, it is still important to set time aside for God and to make Him priority in our life. Again, it is about relationship and I haven’t seen or been a part of a relationship that doesn’t take intentionality and time spent together. If we desire to grow in our faith with God we have to spend time in relationship with Him. Also know that the Holy Spirit is there for you and will guide you in the right direction and translate your true heart posture to the Father. How does that change your perspective on prayer and relationship with God?
