Actively Pray

Good Afternoon!

Keep [actively] watching and praying so that you do not come into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.  -Mark 14:38

To resist temptation we have to actively be aware that the enemy is waiting for that perfect timing and opportunity to strike. We need God’s help to stay alert and have wisdom to recognize when temptation is near. To just depend on ourselves to resist temptation is foolish because we will all have times that we are wore down and in a moment of weakness submit to that temptation if we don’t have the wisdom of God alive and present in us telling us otherwise. You can be as physically big and emotionally strong as you possible but if your spirit is not aligned with God’s the smallest temptation can put your life in downward spiral. That temptation will turn into sin, maybe small at first, and if not addressed will that sin will control your life. The enemy will try to isolate you in your sin but don’t let him. We all need God’s help to have a fulfilling life. We were not meant to this alone. Relying on God is not a sign of weakness, instead it is quite opposite…it shows through in strength and wisdom when we rely on God.

“Good habits result from resisting temptation.”

“Integrity is built by defeating the temptation to be dishonest; humility grows when we refuse to be prideful; and endurance develops every time you reject the temptation to give up.”  -Rick Warren

Dad Joke of the Day:

You never know what I have up my sleeve…

Today, for example, it was a dryer sheet.

Have a great Monday!
