Good Morning!
A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none [for his ears are closed to wisdom], but knowledge is easy for one who understands [because he is willing to learn]. -Proverbs 14:6
Listening is important and so many times there is plenty to learn if we take the time to listen. How many times are we so busy talking that we can’t listen? How many times are we able to reap wisdom off of other people if we let them do the talking? We have a joke in our house that there is a check valve in our head and when our mouth is open and moving, our ears turn off and only when we close our mouth will our ears be open to listen. We need to listen to absorb and not listen to respond. If we go through life elevating ourselves above everyone else we shut off the willingness to learn and we actually place ourselves on an island and think we are the only people trustworthy of knowledge. Prayer might be the same way in that we are so busy asking God to fulfill our needs that we aren’t able to listen to what God might be speaking to us. May we all to take some time today, and just listen…to God and other people, and see what knowledge we gain.
