He goes on to tell the parable of the Pharisee and tax collector that went to the temple to pray and the difference in how they viewed themselves. The Pharisee told God all the things that he did right and thanked God that he wasn\u2019t like the tax collector and thought himself better than anyone else around. The tax collector didn\u2019t even look up while he prayed but beat his chest, confessed to be a sinner, and asked God for His mercy and grace. Jesus goes on to say that the tax collector is the one that walked out of the temple that day justified that day. Whoever exalts themselves will be humbled and whoever humbles themselves will be exalted. Do we view others with contempt? Do we exalt ourselves over other people?
