Then I said to the king, \u201cIf it pleases the king, let letters be given to me for the governors of the provinces beyond the [Euphrates] River, so that they will allow me to pass through until I reach Judah, and a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king\u2019s forest, so that he will give me timber to construct beams for the gates of the fortress which is by the temple, and for the city wall and for the house which I will occupy.\u201d And the king granted me what I asked, for the good hand of my God was upon me. -Nehemiah 2:7-8 AMP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Have you ever been in a situation where you felt the urge from God to say something or do something that you then didn\u2019t follow through because in your mind it wasn\u2019t going to go anywhere anyway? I encourage you to read Chapter 1 and up through these verses in Chapter 2 of Nehemiah and see how Nehemiah sought God wholeheartedly and then when questioned by King Artaxerxes he sought God some more and then asked what, in most cases, would not have been granted. Let us not put God in a box. Let us not give up before we have even tried, God has no limits and nothing is impossible through Him. I would also like to point out that Nehemiah had gained trust from the king, enough that the king knew there was no ulterior motive, and that comes from living a life of integrity in every aspect of what we do. In what area are we putting God in a box? And being put in a similar situation, are we living our life with integrity that we could be trusted?<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are not necessarily doubting that God will do the best for us; we are wondering how painful the best will turn out to be.\u201d -C.S.
