And Jesus replied to him, \u201c \u2018You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.\u2019 This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it, \u2018You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others].\u2019 The whole Law and the [writings of the] Prophets depend on these two commandments. -Matthew 22:37-40<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n If we follow these two commandments we will never be the problem when there is one. Normally when there is strife between two people or groups of people it is because these two commandments aren\u2019t being followed. These are great verses to keep in mind when going into any situation, these are \u201cbig picture\u201d verses. Do we love God with all of our being? If not, what are we letting get in the way? Do we love our neighbor (spouse, co-worker, family, friends, fellow church members, etc.) as ourselves, do we look out for them as we look out for ourselves? Can you imagine if all Christians did this, how enticing God and the Church would look to outsiders if the Church operated like this as one body? That is how Jesus lived and that is how we are called to live\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cKeep your heart pure. A pure heart is necessary to see God in each other.
