Good sense and discretion make a man slow to anger, and it is his honor and glory to overlook a transgression or an offense [without seeking revenge and harboring resentment]. -Proverbs 19:11<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Have you ever met someone that seemingly never gets mad, yet they aren\u2019t pushovers? I think those are the people that put this verse to use. Normally when you feel anger well up within yourself it is due to offense to yourself or it is morally offensive. When you refuse to get mad it keeps you in a better frame of mind and you have better judgement to address whatever situation is bringing offense. It is easier to talk through with other people and yourself if you keep yourself in a calm frame of mind. Then the second part is to not harbor resentment and be able to overlook whatever offense or transgression happened after it\u2019s resolved for the sake of the relationship. Other than Jesus, I don\u2019t think anyone has been able to live this out perfectly but don\u2019t let whatever failures you have had in the past on this determine your future in it.
