For what does it benefit a man to gain the whole world [with all its pleasures], and forfeit his soul? -Mark 8:36<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n What are we pursuing in life? I don\u2019t think this verse is stating that you should give up your career or give up your things, but more that you should check your heart posture behind it. If your only goal in life is to reach a certain social status, or financial status then I think that is what this verse is referring to. When we focus on our social and financial status greed enters our lives and we are focused on \u2018me\u2019. Our focus needs to be on God and living in a way that honors Him through our words and actions, I don\u2019t think it matters what career we choose as long as our focus remains on God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou don\u2019t realize how entitled you are until God as you wait longer than you intended.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNow is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back it give us a chance. It won\u2019t last forever. We must take it or leave it.\u201d -C.S.
