For it is by grace that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation]. -Ephesians 2:8-9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n In no way can we take credit for our own salvation or that of someone else. For a lot of us that like to be in control this is a hard pill to swallow. Salvation happens when we accept we are a sinner and we repent and receive God\u2019s grace. We can\u2019t earn that grace, it\u2019s a gift. Through the process of accepting that gift there is a testimony created in each of us and what we do with our testimony is in our control. Your testimony is unique to you and shared with others could very well be exactly what someone needs to hear to get to a position in their life to accept that gift of grace. Are we hoarding the gift to just ourselves or are we paying it forward?
