But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor\u2014Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you. -John 14:26<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n When Jesus left the earth He promised us that He would send the Holy Spirit in His place. We all have access to the Holy Spirit. When we study scripture, He is there helping us discern it. When we look to Him for direction, He is there ready to help. When we are in time of stress or loss, He is there comforting us. He will counsel us, He will intercede at times for us, He will strengthen us. We have access to Jesus through Him. Pretty much anything that we need He is there to help us and guide us. But, we have to seek God, we have seek His help, because He will not force himself on us, we are the ones that have to take the step toward Him as our own free will\/choice. A quote I came across recently I think fits here: \u201cGod is in control, but He doesn\u2019t expect you to lean on a shovel and pray for a hole.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWithout the Spirit of God, we can do nothing.
