The selfish ambition that comes from jealousy often leads us to do things that are against the moral code of God. We might cheat, steal, or stretch the truth through that selfish ambition because our jealousy gets the best of us. From the outside we might have the appearance like everything is fine and that we are just ambitious, but as written in the verse above, that ambition is secular, unhealthy, and even demonic. If we have that selfish ambition, we should take a step back, re-evaluate, change course and let God direct our ambition.
