Now, believers, if I come to you speaking in unknown tongues, how will I benefit you unless I also speak to you [clearly] either by revelation [revealing God\u2019s mystery], or by knowledge [teaching about God], or by prophecy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], or by instruction [teaching precepts that develop spiritual maturity]?  -1 Corinthians 14:6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we don\u2019t understand someone, either because they are speaking in a different language or their vocabulary is way above our head, what they say can be the most profound and greatest thing ever, but it doesn\u2019t do us much good if we can\u2019t make sense of it, does it? Keeping God\u2019s word relatable, I believe, is extremely important. I believe that is also why it is emphasized that teachers of the Word have a greater accountability because it can go sideways fast depending on your interpretation of relatability. In this verse Paul is talking to believers, people that already committed their life to Christ. When talking to unbelievers, it is just as important to make it relatable and trust on where God is directing you in order for them to make sense of it. It is also important that if we can\u2019t make sense of scripture when reading it that we ask someone and seek out resources to help us understand it. The church of God is made up of many different parts, just like our body. Not one part is supposed to or designed to do everything, therefore we should never assume that we can figure it all out on our own. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
