Speak and act [consistently] as people who are going to be judged by the law of liberty [that moral law that frees obedient Christians from the bondage of sin]. For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; but [to the one who has shown mercy] mercy triumphs [victoriously] over judgment. -James 2:12-13<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n These verses are following eleven verses explaining how we should not treat rich people with social status any differently than the poor beggar. If someone famous would come up to us and ask for help, would we drop everything we are doing to help them out? And if a beggar comes up to us on the street and asks us for help, would we drop everything to help them? When we show mercy to other people, we are walking out what we are called to do. God is mercy and therefore we should be merciful as well. Like the above verse states, mercy triumphs over judgement so therefore instead of passing judgement we should be passing mercy. When we go through life not showing any mercy to anyone we can\u2019t expect a lot of mercy in return, but when we go through life displaying mercy, there is a good chance it will be returned to us here on earth but for sure in heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBlessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.\u201d -Jesus Christ<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMercy is not cowardly.
