So put aside every trace of malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander and hateful speech. -1 Peter 2:1
Easier said than done. We may not struggle with all of these but I would dare to bet that all of us struggle with one or more of these on a regular basis. The days that we can master all of this is the days that our attitude and our mental state are at their finest. I would even say that without God it is not possible to truly accomplish all of these. Without exemplifying God’s grace we will struggle with several of these, and if we put on a good front to where it looks like we do, without God’s grace, then we haven’t accomplished putting aside the hypocrisy part. When we lean into God’s presence and allow Him to help us put these things aside we are operating as He designed us to. Let us go to God in all of these individually, (malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, slander, hateful speech) and allow God to show you how to cast aside each one.
