One Body, One Spirit

Good Morning!

For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ. For by one [Holy] Spirit we were all baptized into one body, [spiritually transformed—united together] whether Jews or Greeks (Gentiles), slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit [since the same Holy Spirit fills each life].  -1 Corinthians 12:12-13

We all have our part to do in the body of Christ. If we all had the same giftings and tendencies the church could not be as well rounded as it was designed to be. When the big church (as in different churches uniting as one) unites over a common cause it is literally world changing. When we can unite over a common cause we should not focus so much on who is involved, rather does the common cause align with our values in extending the hand of God? I am not saying that those details don’t matter but too often we let that define if we can work with someone else for the bigger cause or not. Working alongside someone we may disagree with on doctrine does not make the cause any less important. We all, as individuals, have a role to play in the Body of Christ no matter our background. You are just as important as anyone else in the Body of Christ. I encourage you to read the rest of this passage in 1 Corinthians 12.

“Only within the Body of Christ do you find your unique value.”

“Comparison becomes a danger to the Body of Christ.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

I’ve decided to get Velcro shoes instead of lace ups.

I mean, why knot?

Have a great Tuesday!
