God Arises for His People and Helps them March Forward

Good Morning!

And the Lord said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest [by bringing you and the people into the promised land].” And Moses said to Him, “If Your presence does not go [with me], do not lead us up from here.  -Exodus 33:14-15

God made a promise to the Israelites that His presence would go with them and they will have rest. When we are in God’s presence we can walk through very hard stuff and still be in rest. God’s presence isn’t like anything else, hard stuff is still hard but it feels like someone is there doing the heavy lifting making the hard stuff bearable. The Israelites taking over the Promised Land logically didn’t make sense with the amount of people they had and the size and skill of their army, but God made a promise and God fulfilled that promise. The same God is still doing just as remarkable things today. Moses’ posture on the whole thing was “If God ain’t going, I’m not going.” and that should be our posture as well in whatever we face in life, if God isn’t leading me there, there is no reason for me to go.

“Not only is God with us, God actually cares to be with us.”

“The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.”  -C.S. Lewis

Dad Joke of the Day:

What do Alexander the Great and Winnie the Pooh have in common?

Same middle name.

Have a great Thursday!
