But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we might bring others to Him], that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God]. -2 Corinthians 5:18-19 AMP
God sent Jesus on earth to reconcile us to Him. Jesus brought relationship with Him where He showed us what it looks like to live out our faith. He showed us to not focus on treating the elite of society any different than the people that people consider the outcasts. He opposed the religious “righteous” and called them out on their hypocrisy and showed favor to the sinners and helped them change their outlook and lifestyle to where they aligned with God. I love how it says in the verse above that in Christ God reconciles the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them. I take that to mean when we truly repent of our sins, God cancels and forgets our sins, it is normally someone else or ourselves that keep remembering and bringing back old sins to where we struggle to put it behind us. Studying and dwelling on the verses above, what is God showing you through them?
