Be Mindful of the Words You Speak

Good Morning!

But I tell you, on the day of judgment people will have to give an accounting for every careless or useless word they speak. For by your words [reflecting your spiritual condition] you will be justified and acquitted of the guilt of sin; and by your words [rejecting Me] you will be condemned and sentenced.  -Matthew 12:36-37

Our words carry a lot of weight. What we say matters and can have an effect on not only ourselves, but the people around us. The tongue is the hardest thing to tame and control, yet not impossible. Most often what we say starts out as a thought, so if we can control our thoughts we will have a much bigger chance of controlling our words. We need God’s help in controlling our thoughts, controlling our thoughts is just as important as controlling our words, and are one in the same necessary if we want to lead a Godly life. Luckily for us, if we truly repent, there is forgiveness and scripture says that God will forget our sins.

“Recognize the weight your words carry and the influence you have on those closest to you.”

“You reveal your own character most clearly when you describe someone else’s.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

I read that, by law, you have to turn on your headlights when it’s raining in Sweden.

How am I supposed to know if it’s raining in Sweden?

Have a great Thursday!
