But prove yourselves doers of the word [actively and continually obeying God’s precepts], and not merely listeners, deluding yourselves. -James 1:22
We can listen to sermons and research scripture and become educated in our faith and all that is very important and should be a priority in our life. But if it stops there are we really doing what God desires us to do? We need to also go out and become doers of what we learn. We do not become doers as a way to earn our way into heaven, because it is by grace that we get into heaven, but to share what we have with others that can benefit from it. Being doers can mean multiple things from sharing your faith with someone else, to doing a good deed for someone else, to just living your life in a way that people around you see God through you without you even saying anything to them. How we have been blessed by God is not meant for us to keep to ourselves, but to honor God and share what we have learned. Go be the ambassador for God this weekend that God desires you to be!
