Good Morning!
But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. -James 1:6
This is such a good description of doubt. When we start doubting God we have no solid foundation and then we are like a boat out in the middle of the ocean in a storm. We will get pushed wherever the waves decide to push us and we get beat up by the waves in the process. Doubt was the reason behind the first sin, Satan made Eve doubt that what God had told her about the forbidden fruit to be true and he used just enough truth to make it seem believable. That is still true today, doubt is created by a half truth and lack of information. What is really cool though, is the closer you become in your relationship with God and the more you read and study scripture, the more He will help you discern truth from untruth in your thoughts to where doubt does not come as easily. Let’s make God our foundation, our solid footing, and let’s not be the boat out in the middle of the ocean in the storm being tossed around.
“People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.”
“Doubt can only be removed by action.”
“Keep feeding your faith until your doubts starve to death.” -Navjot Sidhu
