Own Language

Good Morning!

Then how is it that each of us hears in our own language or native dialect? -Acts 2:8

I know that this verse is part of another passage in Acts and is not meant to stand alone but reading it by itself brought something to light for me. How many times do we choose to hear something in our own language or dialect? Have you ever spoken with someone that took something that you said and got something completely different than what you meant? They were hearing it in their own language. How many times are we offended because we choose to hear something in our own language instead of trying to give the person the benefit of the doubt and hearing it from their perspective? If we can filter what we hear through a Godly perspective I think we will find ourselves far less offended then if we choose to hear everything in our own dialect.

“If you are on a continuous search to be offended, you will always find what you are looking for; even when it isn’t there.” -Bill Kellogg

“He who takes offense when no offense is intended is a fool, and he who takes offense when offense is intended is a greater fool.” -Brigham Young

Dad Joke of the Day:

I don’t always whoop.

But when I do, there it is.

Have a great Wednesday!
