Hand of God

Good Morning!

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time, casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].   -1 Peter 5:6-7

From what I gather from this verse is that we should not be arrogant or selfish but keep our focus on Jesus and stay humble under Him. He wants our cares and our concerns because we weren’t designed to carry that with us, we should off load those on to Him constantly. I believe that is part of the reason we are instructed to be in constant prayer, not just to pray but to unload our issues on Him. I think if we all did that as a whole we would have less drama in our day to day, because we all need to unload somewhere and if we can do that to God and not to our spouse, co-worker, children, etc. I think it would improve our relationships around us as well. Not just that, God does not get offended when your wording doesn’t match up with your heart, because He hears the heart and not what or how you say it. We as humans will hear and say stuff through our own filter and that is where offense comes into play. Try unloading your anxieties and frustrations on Jesus today and realize the difference in your attitude afterwards versus if you unload on some other person.
