Good Morning!
Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, that I may not sin against You. -Psalms119:11
Do we treasure the word of God? I would say that I do, but there are times when I get in ‘routine’ of reading the Bible and I catch myself doing it just because it is the ‘right thing to do’. Now that is still better, I think, than not reading it at all since we can’t get anything out of something we don’t put ourselves in a position to get, but if I read a chapter and ask myself what I got out of it and the answer is nothing, then I was probably not mentally present when I was reading it. Sometimes it’s just one verse that pops out at me when reading and that one verse is something that I can carry with me for the day. If we get even one thing a day and can apply it, we are moving in the right direction. It is when we stop treasuring the Word of God for exactly that, the Word of God, that we tend to start sliding backwards.
