Jesus said to Judas, “Friend, do what you came for.” Then they came and seized Jesus and arrested Him. -Matthew 26:50
This is where Judas betrayed Jesus and where the persecution started leading up to Jesus’ death. So Judas went out of his way to go and find the Jewish leaders and planned to betray Jesus, accepted money for betraying Jesus, then went and got the crowd of people, found Jesus and pointed Him out to the crowd…very much pre-planned, pre-meditated. What stuck out to me is that Jesus greeted him as a friend, literally calling Judas ‘Friend’. That is the God we serve, we don’t serve a God that is just waiting until He can smite you, but a God that will call you Friend to the very end, even when you betray Him.
