Anger

Good Morning!

Then the Lord said, “Do you have a good reason to be angry?”  -Jonah 4:4

God had asked Jonah to go to Nineveh and preach repentance to keep them and their city from being destroyed. Jonah didn’t think they deserved that and tried to run away from it, but after experiencing a lot of opposition changed his thinking, repented, and went to Nineveh to preach. Obviously he didn’t expect Nineveh to repent and when they did he became angry at God because he knew that God was a forgiving and gracious God and would spare the city since they had repented which is when God asked him this question. How many times do we think we know what is best, even better than God, and when it doesn’t go as we think it should we get frustrated or angry because we think someone deserves worse than what they got. How many times does God ask us (if we listen), “Do you have a good reason to be angry?”

“No one heals himself by wounding another.”

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

Waiter: I see your glass is empty, would you like another one?

Me: why would I want two empty glasses?

Have a great Monday!
