Believe

Good Morning!

You believe that God is one; you do well [to believe that]. The demons also believe [that], and shudder and bristle [in awe-filled terror—they have seen His wrath]!  -James 2:19

So we believe in God, that’s good….but so do the demons. What I take from this verse is that it is not enough to just believe in God but how we are living it out. Are we moving the needle towards good with our belief or are we content with just believing that God exists? The enemy knows that God exists and does everything he can to either try to make people believe He doesn’t exist or keep them so busy and distracted with life that there is no room left for God. If it all looks too overwhelming, start small and be consistent. Be consistent in saying a short prayer from the heart every day, be consistent in reading at least one verse everyday and then grow it from there. Once we open our hearts to God, He will draw us in and help us grow in our faith but it takes effort from us.

“I believe in God not because my parents told me, not because the church told me, but because I’ve experienced His goodness and mercy myself.”

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything that you gave me.””  -Erma Bombeck

Dad Joke of the Day:

You know people say they pick their nose, but I feel like I was just born with mine.

Have a great Wednesday!
