Lead Worthy Lives

Good Morning!

Only [be sure to] lead your lives in a manner [that will be] worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I do come and see you or remain absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit [and one purpose], with one mind striving side by side [as if in combat] for the faith of the gospel.  -Philippians 1:27

This is in Paul’s letter to the Philippian church encouraging them to stand strong in their faith as one spirit and mind. I love how this verse points out that they should lead their lives in manner worthy of the gospel of Christ no matter if he shows up or not. That is still relevant today, we should lead our lives in a way that is worthy of the Gospel, no matter if our church leadership or whoever else that person or people might be that have influence over you, are present. Another thing that is still relevant from this verse is that we need to work together as one spirit  and one mind as followers of Jesus. Sometimes we let our interpretations of the Bible to be used as weapons towards other Christians and in the process we create collateral damage among non-Christians that then have no interest in pursuing what we have because it doesn’t look appealing. I know that there are wrong interpretations of the Bible but a lot of times these aren’t handled in the most loving way. Imagine the amount of additional Kingdom work that could be done if all of us Christians laid down our differences and operated as one body for the good of the Kingdom of God.

“Live in such a way that makes it easy for others to believe in Christ.”

“Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

When I came home from work my wife said, “Ugh, the baby has been crying for hours. Can you take over?”

I said, “Sure” and started crying for hours.

Have a great Tuesday!
