Good Morning!
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God [granted by His permission and sanction], and those which exist have been put in place by God. -Romans 13:1
I feel very unqualified to speak into this because I don’t necessarily understand it. I was looking for a verse for today and this one kept jumping out at me no matter how many times I tried to move on from it, so I trust it is necessary to share.
I look around the world at all the different leaders in the world and there are good and bad, some lead in a Godly way and some persecute anything that is related to religion and a lot are in between there. What I take from this verse is that, while we might not always agree with the governing authorities, we should honor them in their position. I see so much hate being spewed at the authorities no matter which side of good and bad they are and I am pretty sure, that is not how God intended it. I do believe that we should stand for what is right, but that can be done peacefully while still honoring whoever you don’t agree with. There have been some big victories in this world done by people that stood for what was right, all while honoring others.
