Good Morning!
Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever. Do not be carried away by diverse and strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established and strengthened by grace and not by foods [rules of diet and ritualistic meals], which bring no benefit or spiritual growth to those who observe them. -Hebrews 13:8-9
Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday and the same He was almost 2000 years ago and He will be the same tomorrow. It is all about relationship with Him and following the lead that He gives you. Let’s not get caught in going down the rabbit trails on stuff that really doesn’t affect how our relationship looks like with God. While it is important to know the facts and understand how science continues to catch up with the Bible, it is not something we need to know in order to know that God is real and those facts, although cool, aren’t relational. It is so easy as humans to take something that worked, maybe we said a prayer in a certain way or did a different routine in our prayer life and our prayer got answered, to then take that and make it a ritual because we think that is what did it. I think it might be human nature to lean that way. I think what the verse above is trying to point out is that it is not about the rituals, it is about the grace of God and that relationship we have with God.
