Luke 12:22-23

Good Morning!

Jesus said to His disciples, “For this reason I tell you, do not worry about your life, as to what you will eat; or about your body, as to what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.”  -Luke 12:22-23

A few verses after this Jesus says that we cannot add even an hour to our life by worrying so if we aren’t even able to do that why do we worry about the rest? I was just having a conversation with someone the other day about stress and worry and it hit me that we tend to spend so much energy on temporary things. We get stressed out about work, either we aren’t able to work enough hours to pay the bills or there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done that we need to get done. We might be stressed out about how we look, how our house looks, what kind of vehicle we drive, how we are going to get our kids to all their sporting events and activities, how we are going to cram one more thing into our schedule. I am not saying that these things aren’t important but are we putting all our focus on those things and putting our faith building on the shelf because we just can’t find the time? Over busyness, stress, and worry are all tools of distraction of the enemy.

“Worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles, it takes away today’s peace.”

“Anxiety happens when you think you have to figure out everything all at once. Breathe. You’re strong. God’s got you. Take it day by day.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

What do we learn from cows, buffalos, and elephants?

It’s impossible to reduce weight by eating green grass and salads and walking.

Have a great Friday and weekend!
