I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 3:14
How easy it is to get sidetracked from this and get caught up in the busyness of life. Whatever we do, it should point towards our heavenly calling in Jesus. It doesn’t mean we have to go preach Jesus to everyone we meet but our actions and our convictions should point that way. Do our daily habits and actions exemplify honesty and integrity? Do our words express conviction and cleanliness in speech? As our relationship grows with individuals does our faith come into the conversation? How we go about our day and how we conduct business should reflect our heavenly calling. I know, it is easier said than done but I want to remind you that Rome wasn’t conquered in one day and we serve a God of second chances. Just because we maybe can’t implement all of this today or we really messed it up yesterday doesn’t mean we can’t constantly strive for it. Today is a new day and God is right there, ready to help you in any way and cheering you on all the way. Today is the day to be the change.
