Colossians 3:1

Good Morning!

Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.   -Colossians 3:1

When life gets thrown at you it is sometimes easy to forget our focus. Instead of looking up for guidance we tend to look inwardly for guidance. When we are only listening and reasoning with ourselves we tend to come up with a selfish focus based on what benefits us. We start seeing things through a lens that doesn’t look out for anyone else and we start comparing what we have versus what other people have and making decisions based off of that. When our focus is on God for guidance we tend to focus outwardly and how we can respond with empathy of the other person’s point of view, even if we may not agree with it 100%. If we can go through life doing what is ours to do to the best of our ability, not focusing on what we don’t or can’t have but on what we do have and what we can do with what we have, we will enjoy our day to day life a lot better. What does this look like for you? Where do you seek?

“To set our minds on what is above, we must fill them to the brim with the good, true words of the Lord.”  -Glenna Marshall

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”  -A.W. Tozer

Dad Joke of the Day:

Cowboys in the old west used to hang lanterns on their saddles at night to help them find their way home.

This was an early form of saddle light navigation.

Have a great Friday!
