Do Not Worry

Good Morning!

And why are you worried about clothes? See how the lilies and wildflowers of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin [wool to make clothing], yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory and splendor dressed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive and green today and tomorrow is [cut and] thrown [as fuel] into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!  -Matthew 6:28-30

I take this to mean more than just clothes. I believe this means most of the day to day things we are worried about. I think what Jesus was trying to point out here is that if God goes through all the trouble to cover every little detail in nature with all of its unbelievable beauty, doesn’t it make sense that He is going to cover whatever needs we have as well? There is so much about nature that is still being discovered, and there is so much about the make-up of our bodies that is still being discovered, all of which points to so much complexity and attention to detail that the only explanation is God. Think of all that and then think of how God pursues a relationship with us and wants to take the worry and anxiety off of us, yet we want to hang onto it because we think we are the only ones that care or can do anything about it. Doesn’t handing it off to God just make sense? Today, hand off your worry to God. Let Him take care of it for you.

“Worrying does not move the hand of God, but faith does. Exchange worry for trusting God and you will see progress.”  -Joyce Meyer

“Don’t worry. God is never blind to your tears, never deaf to your prayers, and never silent to your pain. He sees, He hears, and He will deliver.”
