Open the Eyes of My Heart, Lord

Good Morning!

And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people).  -Ephesians 1:18

This is a verse that I have glazed over in the past but there is so much depth in this verse. That the eyes of our heart may be enlightened so that we know what God has called us to and the rich inheritance that we can have among God’s people. That is something that so many of us long for, to have that enlightenment on exactly what God has called us to do. I love how it involves the Church (God’s people) as in that our calling will involve other people, we are not a one and only show, and through those people we will find God’s rich inheritance.

“God has given us inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade.”

“Who are we? We are children of God. Our potential is unlimited. Our inheritance is sacred. May we always honor that heritage, in every thought and deed.”  -Russel M. Nelson

Dad Joke of the Day:

How can you tell when a bucket gets sick?

It becomes a little pale.

Have a great Tuesday!
