Good Morning!

Love is to be sincere and active [the real thing—without guile and hypocrisy]. Hate what is evil [detest all ungodliness, do not tolerate wickedness]; hold on tightly to what is good.  -Romans 12:9 AMP

So much is packed in this verse. Love is to be sincere, meaning that we should not just pretend to do everything in love to check a box as a “good Christian,” but we are to be sincere in our love, actually mean it. Another thing it mentions is that love is to be active, oftentimes our love is seen and felt more than it is expressed or heard. Too many times we may say the loving thing but our actions show otherwise. Lastly in this verse it says to hate what is evil and hold on tightly to what is good. Hating evil doesn’t have to mean that we have to go attack the person we see doing evil in order to hate it. Sometimes that person isn’t even aware of what they are doing that is evil and by us attacking them pushes them further away from ever having a relationship with God. We can hate the evil and love the person. This verse also ends with reminding us to hold on to what is good. Too often we fail to remember what the good is until the moment is past, and then we only have regret in not making the most of it. This Christmas season don’t take the good for granted but soak it in and enjoy it!
