Open the Door of Your Heart

Good Morning!

Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me.  -Revelation 3:20

I think this imagery is so good. All we have to do is open the door and let Him in. A lot of us have that one room or area of our house that we would rather not want anybody to go into, either it’s a mess that you don’t want people to see or you have items in there you don’t want anybody to mess with. We sometimes treat Jesus the way we may when guests come over to our house where we may let Him in the front door but don’t let Him fully into our mess or our treasure for fear that He may change it, not knowing that Him changing it will be far better than anything we could have imagined with it. Let us allow Him to come in and fully take over, allow Him to come in and share a meal and like the verse states above, to restore us. If we only let Jesus into our lives part way, we shouldn’t then get frustrated when He is not able to completely transform our lives. Transformation happens when we invite Him in fully and wholly.

“Jesus is knocking at your door. Take hold of the better life by letting Him into your life. Make Him the boss of your life. It’ll change everything.”  -Rick Warren

“In every experience of life, the Lord is standing at the door and knocking and saying “Will you trust Me in this?””  -Elisabeth Elliot

Dad Joke of the Day:

I wouldn’t say I never exercise.

Occasionally, my nose runs.

Have a great Friday!
