For you know that you were not redeemed from your useless [spiritually unproductive] way of life inherited [by tradition] from your forefathers with perishable things like silver and gold, but [you were actually purchased] with precious blood, like that of a [sacrificial] lamb unblemished and spotless, the priceless blood of Christ.   -1 Peter 1:18-19

There are times when someone may buy their way out of a situation or buy their way into a certain place or situation. Our salvation is one thing that we cannot buy and heaven is one place that we cannot buy our way into, no matter how much money we have. Our salvation was bought at a high price but not with money, it was Jesus giving up His life in the most gruesome way. Actions have consequences and the consequences of each of us would keep us out of having eternal life, out of heaven, but through God’s unimaginable grace we can be saved and not have to pay the eternal price of our sins. Jesus was a sinless man and He paid the price for our actions so that we would not have to. He bought our salvation with a currency that only He had so that we can walk free.
