Good Morning!
For we have regard for what is honorable [and above suspicion], not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. -2 Corinthians 8:21
This is sometimes a hard line to follow. Just because we have the freedom to do something doesn’t mean we should. As a Christian we are called to live with honor and to do what is right. There are times when we may have the freedom spiritually to do certain things but when done in the wrong setting can deter people more than help them. We need to have discernment on if it is right or wrong in the eyes of God, then we also need discernment if by doing, whatever it is, will derail someone or help someone. I love how the above verse added in ‘and above suspicion’, there are times where suspicion is unavoidable, but there are also lots of times when you can avoid suspicion by being open and honest. Just because it is nobody else’s business doesn’t mean it’s not going to be. How can you live life honorably today?
“The answer is surprisingly simple. Just do right. Live an honorable life.” -Lou Holtz
“No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.” -Calvin Coolidge
