Listen carefully

Good Morning!

He who guards his mouth and his tongue guards himself from troubles.  -Proverbs 21:23

In order to control our words we have to control our thoughts. How often do our words get us in trouble? We say something that is hurtful that we regret later, or we may have lied that then has ramifications later besides just the guilt of lying. When we can guard our mouth and words we can save ourselves from a lot of trouble. This does not mean we should just be quiet altogether though, we should just use our words as encouragement, spreading God’s wisdom and lifting people up in speech. The Bible teaches a lot of ways from a lot of different authors the power of words and our thoughts, I believe God intentionally did this to remind us the importance of it and that we understand that is where the enemy will most often attack us.

“Let us always guard out tongue; not that it should always be silent, but that it should speak at the proper time.”  -Saint John Chrysostom

“How beautiful it is to stay silent when someone expects you to be enraged.”

Dad Joke of the Day:

Do you know why scuba divers fall backwards when entering the water?

If they fell forward, they would still be in the boat.

Have a great Monday!
