Happy Friday!
For the time being no discipline brings joy, but seems sad and painful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness [right standing with God and a lifestyle and attitude that seeks conformity to God’s will and purpose]. -Hebrews 12:11
I’m not sure that anyone would say they love being disciplined, and it is never fun in the midst of it, but coming out on the other side of it (if we walk through it with the right mindset) can be so rewarding. The struggle for me is to listen to it and learn from it while in the midst of it and not just get defensive and write it off as something that doesn’t apply to me. I think we sometimes believe we are above getting disciplined, either from God or another person, but truth be told we can all improve and use accountability in some area. So let us all remember that on the other side of the valley is the mountaintop. Today we might be in the valley or we might be on the mountaintop, either way let’s find the good in it.
