Good Morning!
Since we have such a [glorious] hope and confident expectation, we speak with great courage. -2 Corinthians 3:12
How great is our hope and confidence in the gospel, in Jesus Christ? Do we have the confidence that God will come through the way He says He will in the gospel? Oftentimes, when we lack that confidence it is because we are listening to outside voices. We go in with a certain expectation (doubt) that we hear from other people or the enemy whispering in our ear. Recently in prayer, I was praying for a situation and asking God, or rather telling God, how to fix it and I caught myself and changed my prayer to just asking God to resolve the situation in however He sees fit. I was able to move on with better confidence that He will take care of it. You see, when we think it needs to be answered in a certain way we pigeon hole ourselves to think it needs to be answered that way and when it doesn’t we think God didn’t answer our prayer. But in reality when we look back at it down the road we realize that He did, it just wasn’t in the way we thought it should have been and therefore we overlooked it. Look back at your prayers, or start journaling your prayers, and let that, plus the power of the Holy Spirit, build your faith and confidence in Jesus.
“Confidence is not based on you having all the resources needed to take care of yourself; confidence is based upon the truth that God is faithful.”
“Let go of your expectation of certainty and embrace your confidence in God.” -Emily P. Freeman
