Twisted Doctrine

Good Morning!

They [who teach twisted doctrine] are of the world and belong to it; therefore they speak from the [viewpoint of the] world [with its immoral freedom and baseless theories—demanding compliance with their opinions and ridiculing the values of the upright], and the [gullible one of the] world listens closely and pays attention to them.  -1 John 4:5

We as Christians all agree that the Bible is absolute truth. We believe that God’s truth is the absolute truth. The good morals that have been around for centuries are Biblical based and science has confirmed that those morals are what is best and healthiest for us. I think most of us know that you can’t believe everything you hear, so how do we know? How do we know what is truth and what is not? Scripture tells us to test what we hear with God’s Word. The problem sometimes is that we can pick and choose out of the Bible to help us justify certain things but often when we look at the big picture of the Bible we know what the truth is. Through study of scripture and the help of the Holy Spirit we are able to discern truth over deception. I would also like to point out that if we are a capable adult we are responsible to seek out the truth for ourself, we are responsible for our salvation, not our parents, not our pastor, not our spouse, not our friends, but ourselves. The Bible is alive and well, through it we can know how to be saved and it truly is a guidebook on how to live, and it is still very relevant today.

“Sanctify them by the truth. Your word is truth.”  -Jesus in John 17:17

“It is far better to know God’s Truth than to be ignorant of it.”  -Billy Graham

Dad Joke of the Day:

My doctor has told me to stop eating chocolate, so it’s going to be a big change for me.

I’ve been with that doctor for nearly 20 years.

Have a great Thursday!
