Good Morning!
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people. -Luke 2:10
This was what the angels said to the shepherds in announcing the birth of Jesus. Notice how they said that they are bringing good news of great joy for all people. First of all, that includes all of us as we are part of all people. Secondly, do we still look at Christmas as good news of great joy? There is something about Christmastime that goes beyond gift giving and Christmas parties/gatherings. It seems to affect most people in a positive way, it really seems to make the world a better place in the weeks leading up to Christmas. People tend to be happier and more forgiving, and the craziness of the world seems to be on hold for just a little bit. I think a big part of it is, that it is a time of the year that we tend to focus outward in the spirit of Christmas instead of inward at ourselves. How can we carry that spirit/that mindset further than Christmas, can we carry it throughout the year? What is keeping us from it?
“We should try to hold on to the Christmas spirit, not just one day a year, but all 365.” -Mary Martin
“Christmas is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give, it’s Christmas.” -Dale Evans
Dad Joke of the Day:
Christmas time is great because you can shout, “Don’t come in here!” and people assume you’re wrapping their presents, instead of just wanting to be left alone.
Have a great Tuesday!
